Instructions for CASIPLUS Apps
Scoring & In-Office Assessment (In-Office)
After registering, you can access the Scoring and In-Office Assessment app by clicking the relevant Quick Start option at the top of the CASIPLUS.com homepage. You must first select the Checklist you wish to access. Then you must certify that you are (a) qualified to use the app and (b) will not enter HIPPA-protected or PHI data into CASIPLUS apps. You must then enter the age and gender assigned at birth of the individual being evaluated as certain scores are based on these variables. Complete items as indicated. The app will not allow you to skip items. If you are just using the Scoring feature and the informant did not fill out an item, then you must code the item as missing. NOTE: Once the Checklist is submitted, you cannot go back and change any answers or print individual item responses.
This app generates a Score Report that includes numerical scores for all Checkmate Plus Symptom Inventory scoring algorithms (Item Response, Symptom Count, Symptom Severity, Symptom-Induced Impairment, and Clinical Cutoff). For detailed descriptions of how these scores are calculated click on the Inventory Information link on the checkmateplus.com navigation bar. You can print and save PDF and CSV versions of the Score Report as well as the raw data (CSV) to help facilitate future statistical analyses (which cannot be executed by CASIPLUS apps). You can also print and save a PDF copy of responses to completed Checklist items. At the top of each Score Report is an individualized Report ID, which is a randomly generated sequence of letters and numerals. IMPORTANT: You must remember this ID and later associate it with the patient/informant's information because the app requires you to certify that you have not entered any HIPPA-protected information or PHI data prior to using the app.
The CASIPLUS Scoring & In-Office Assessment app does not keep a historical record of your Score Reports; therefore, we strongly recommend that you print your Score Reports and save them in an appropriate place.
Missing data impact the calculation of Checkmate Plus Symptom Inventory scoring algorithms in several ways, and this is particularly problematic for scores that are based on more than one set of criteria (e.g., Symptom Count Cutoff scores and Clinical Cutoff scores). In general, for disorders that are characterized by three or more symptoms in the Checklist, the Scoring app imputes the missing value with the mean score (rounded off to nearest whole integer) when at least 75% of the items are complete (i.e., not missing). The rules for Symptom Count Cutoff scores and Clinical Cutoff scores are a bit more complicated and are available from the publisher on request. In order to minimize the problems created by missing values, both the In-Office and Online apps require the informant to make a response before being able to proceed to the next item.
In the Score Report, the number of missing data items for each symptom category are noted in the Symptom Count Completeness column. (Number of completed items over the number of total items.) Scores that cannot be calculated owing to an insufficient number of completed items are noted as missing items or M or with an asterisk (*). Symptom Severity scores that are not amenable to imputation (too many missing items) have two asterisks (**) indicating that the actual value may be higher.
If you don’t have a sufficient number of remaining credits (uses) to administer the app, an error message will appear, and it will be necessary to contact Checkmate Plus and purchase additional credits. If there is at least 1 available credit, the total number of credits will be reduced by 1 (-1), and completion of the Checklist will be enabled. The number of remaining credits appears in the My Account tab.
CASI PLUS Online Assessment (Online)
The CASIPLUS Online Assessment app functions similarly to the In-Office app with a few notable exceptions. First, you must enter the email address of the informant. IMPORTANT: The casiplus.com website does not store informant email information. Second, you must select the appropriate Checklist (based on age) and the appropriate informant (parent, teacher, etc.). Third, the app provides a template for an email (that you can modify) that the app will send to the informant. The email instructs the informant to click START to complete the Checklist. The informant is not required to login (no ID or password) and cannot access any other features of the CASIPLUS app. The link is for a one-time use, so once the informant completes and submits their Checklist, they will not be able to go back to the link and complete additional Checklists.
After you click submit, you will see a message indicating that the email has been sent. The message also indicates the Report ID, which is a long randomly generated sequence of letters and numerals. IMPORTANT: You must remember this ID and later associate it with the patient/informant's information because the app requires you to certify that you have not entered any HIPPA-protected information or PHI data prior to using the app.
As soon as the informant submits their completed Checklist, the Online app prepares a Score Report that is identical to the report generated by the In-Office app. You can check the status of an informant's Checklist by clicking Online Assessment on the Dashboard. If the Submitted column indicates yes, then the Checklist has been submitted and scored. To see the Score Report, click on the Report ID. The CASIPLUS Online Assessment app does not guarantee storage of your Score Reports; therefore, we strongly recommend that you print your Score Reports and save them in an appropriate place.
